McLaren W1: the next chapter after the P1
The W1 follows the F1 and P1 with a new hybrid powertrain and a body shaped around ground effect aerodynamics.

McLaren’s published combined output converts to approximately 1,258 HP in U.S. units, with about 988 lb ft of torque. The W1 uses a new V8 hybrid powertrain, and its listed top speed converts to roughly 217 MPH. McLaren quotes 5.8 seconds to 124 MPH.
The body and suspension are part of the same performance package. In track only Race mode, McLaren lists up to approximately 2,205 pounds of downforce from its ground effect aerodynamics. That figure describes an operating condition; it is not a constant load at any speed.
McLaren plans to build 399 cars. Its current development stories include testing at Silverstone, in Arizona heat and in Arctic winter conditions. Those are useful reminders that a new flagship has to do more than look impressive under studio lights. The manufacturer’s latest W1 page is linked below for its continuing development coverage.
Compare the rear view in the photograph with the model, then rotate toward the side. Look at the space around the cabin and the large openings behind it. I would explore those areas first, before moving in to the wheels and nose. The viewer shows an independent interpretation of the W1 rather than a scan of a delivered customer car.
